KeepInTouch — Privacy Policy
Effective: 2026-08-31 · Last updated: 2026-08-31
KeepInTouch helps you stay in touch with a small number of people you choose. This policy explains what the app stores, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
- We store only the people you pick. The app never reads or uploads your address book.
- For each of them we keep a name, one phone number, optionally one email, and the settings you chose. Nothing else.
- We never look your contacts up anywhere, never sell anything, never advertise, and never put anyone's name or number into analytics.
- The people in your list are not our users and never agreed to be in our database. We treat their data as borrowed.
- Deleting a contact deletes it. Deleting your account deletes everything.
Who we are
KeepInTouch is operated by Ofek Rotem. For any privacy question, or to exercise any right below, write to support@getkeepintouch.com — a real person answers.
What we collect, and why
Your account
When you sign in with Google we receive and store your email address, your display name, and your profile picture URL, plus your device's time zone so reminders arrive at a sensible hour. We use this to identify your account and for nothing else.
The people you track
When you import someone, the app stores their name, one phone number, optionally one email address, the category and contact cadence you chose, when you last spoke, and any note you write about them.
Three commitments about this data, which are built into the app rather than promised on a web page:
- Selective import only. The app never bulk-reads or uploads your address book. You pick specific people and only those leave the device. On iOS 18 and later the app uses the system's limited-access contact picker, so the operating system itself enforces this and we cannot see anyone you did not choose.
- Minimal fields. No addresses, birthdays, photos, social handles, or relationships.
- No enrichment, ever. We never look a contact up against any external source. No data brokers, no "people you may know", no matching between users.
What you record
Each time you log that you spoke to someone we store which channel (call, SMS, WhatsApp or other), when, and any note you added.
Your reminder settings
The hours you want to be reminded in, your quiet hours, the maximum nudges per day, and which weekdays are active.
Your subscription
If you subscribe we store your plan, its status, the product you bought, and when the current period ends. We never see your card. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google.
Analytics and diagnostics
The app records how it is used — screens opened, reminders scheduled and actioned, imports completed — so we can tell whether it works. These events carry counts, categories and opaque identifiers only. They never contain a contact's name, phone number, email or note. Crash and performance reports are collected so we can fix what breaks.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent anything to anyone.
- We never show advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. The app contains no advertising identifier and no tracking SDK.
- We never put contact details into analytics or crash reports.
- We never contact the people in your list. They will never hear from us.
Where your data lives, and who processes it
Your data is stored in Frankfurt, Germany (eu-central-1) on Supabase's infrastructure. We use a small number of processors, each for one job:
| Processor | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and authentication | Everything described above |
| Google Sign-In | Signs you in | Your Google account identity |
| PostHog (EU) | Product analytics | Usage events, your opaque user id — never contact data |
| Sentry | Crash and error reporting | Diagnostic data, your opaque user id |
| RevenueCat | Subscription state | Your purchase status and an opaque app user id |
| Apple / Google | Take payment | Your payment details, which we never see |
How long we keep it
Until you delete it. There is no silent retention period: contacts and interactions live until you remove them or close your account.
Your choices
- Delete a contact. The row and its history are hard-deleted, not hidden.
- Delete your account. Available inside the app. It purges every row we hold about you, including your contacts, your history, your settings and your profile.
- Turn off reminders. Either in the app's settings or in your phone's notification settings. The app keeps working.
- Revoke contacts access. In your phone's settings. Anyone already imported stays until you delete them.
- Ask us anything. Write to support@getkeepintouch.com for a copy of your data, a correction, or a deletion you would rather we performed.
Children
KeepInTouch is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has an account, write to support@getkeepintouch.com and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect, not merely edit this page. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.
